Thanksgiving Sweet Potato Recipe

1 Thanksgiving Sweet Potatoes

Thanksgiving Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients:

2 (15 ounce) cans sweet potatoes
1/4 cup orange juice
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 pinch salt
1/2 cup margarine
1 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows

Preparation:

First turn on the oven and preheat it to 175 degrees C. For baking you will need to place potatoes in a baking pan that is not so deep. Then pour orange juice upon the potatoes. Take a small bowl and mix sugar, cinnamon, salt and flour in it. Add some margarine. Scatter this mixture over sweet potatoes. Then you will need to bake the dish for 30 minutes in oven. Thereafter pull out sweet potatoes from the oven and sprinkle them with marshmallows. Broil the dish until it gets browned.


   

2 Sweet Potato Pie

Sweet Potato Pie

Ingredients:

4 cups of sweet potatoes (Preliminary you have to peel potatoes and to cut them into equal pieces.)
1 tea spoon of salt
1 tea spoon of fresh lemon juice
1 tea spoon of nutmeg
3 packets of Sweetener
2 table spoons of light butter
For topping:
1 table spoon of sugar
1 tea spoon of vanilla extract
1 cup of egg whites
0,5 cup Jet- Puffed Marshmallow Creme.

Preparation:

prepare sweet potatoes and place them into a big pan. Pour some water to cover potatoes slightly. Cover the pan and bring the dish to the boiling point. You will need about 20 minutes until the potatoes become soft. Drain the pan of water. Thereafter you have to puree banana in a kitchen machine. Add hot sweet potato, lemon juice, salt, nutmeg, butter and Splenda Packets to the banana puree. Mash everything very well. Then oil a cake pan or spray it with a cooking spray. Place the mixture on this cake pan. Bake it at 350 F until it gets baked through. You will need about 15-20 minutes. Pull the dish out from the oven and leave it for 15-20 minutes.

Now you can get down to the preparing of the topping. First beat egg whites, vanilla extract and sugar. Thereafter, take 1 part of egg white mixture and place it in a bowl with a wire whisk. Add Jet-puffed Marshmallow Creme and mix the mixture very well. The creme has to be softened up. Then whisk the remaining part of egg white mixture and slowly fold up it into the marshmallow Creme mixture in 2 parts. Now you can cover the pie with this topping. Spread the mixture evenly on the pie. Bake the pie at 350 degrees on oven for approximately 15 minutes.
