2 lg onions, baked
Salt and paper to your taste
2 tablespoons of buttermilk

After 1,5 hours remove the onions from the oven in case if they are soft. If not place them back in the oven for several minutes. Take a sharp knife and cut out the stem and the root ends of the onions. The skin and the first layer should be removed as well. Place the onions in the kitchen machine and puree them. Reduce the heat to 350 degree in the oven. Next, whisk together the onions, potatoes, garlic, salt and pepper. Stir in the buttermilk. Place the mixture into a gratin dish. Thereafter smooth the top and strew with cheese. Sprinkle milk evenly over the top of potatoes. Bake the dish for approximately 30-40 minutes, until brown.
